Obtaining, Installing and running WW2 Mod for BFV

HelloClan Leader
Hey BFV Players,

Some of you may have noted the topic that mentioned the WW2 Mod maps, I believe that a few of you had participated in the trial I had running on the Event server a good couple of months ago.

It has a renewed interest and as such I'd like to semi-permanently run the WW2 Mod maps on our Event server.

Should the interest continue to grow with these maps, and if enough current players make use of the Mod, I'll eventually add the mod maps into rotation on our main BFV server.

Below you will find all the necessary details to download / install the WW2 Mod, as well as join information for our Event server.

Battlefield Vietnam Redux Version (4 Disc set):

Insert disc 4 and navigate to your "My Computer", double click on the icon that displays the disc you've just inserted. It should run the install automatically from there but if it does not, right click on the icon that represents the disc in your "My Computer" folder and click on "Explore", in this folder you should see a "Setup.exe", double click on that and it will install like a normal application.

ISO version of Battlefield Vietnam:

If you have made use of the ISO to install BFV, mount the ISO and you'll find a Disc 4 folder, open it and from there the steps are the same as above, double click on the "Setup.exe" and the rest is simple.

No mod files at all

If you don't have the mod, you can download it here. I uploaded my WW2 Mod file to my google drive for ease, it's safe and working. Once downloaded from the above link you can unrar/unzip it with applications like WinRAR or 7zip, extract the file to some place easy like your desktop and open it. Again, it's the same principle as above, double click the "Setup.exe" file and that's that. You can then delete the folder you made on your desktop, as you will no longer need it once you have the mod installed.

Playing the mod:

If you want to play the mod in single player to get the hang of it, start Battlefield Vietnam normally then go to Options & then Custom Game, you can choose what game mode you want to run i.e. Battlefield Vietnam or WW2 Mod and it will switch from there after you select and apply one.

It seems that if a player is using a no-cd crack, the above method of launching BFV normally then switching to the WW2 mod, will prompt for a disc when trying to join the server. So it is advised to please launch the WW2 Mod directly from your BFV directory.

If you are running 64 bit windows you will find it at: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam
If you are running 32 bit windows you will find it at: C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield Vietnam

Once in the game directory you'll see a application titled "Battlefield Vietnam WW2 Mod", double click it and it will take you into the game then you need only add the join details for the Event Server. You can create a shortcut for the WW2 Mod on your desktop as well so that you don't need to go hunting for it.

At the moment with the above mentioned issue, I won't be able to add the WW2 maps onto the main server with such a issue that causes inconvenience.

Thus for now, our Event Server is home to the WW2 mod and only the WW2 mod. I have also enabled bots to it so that I can see what our resource usage is at the moment.

Joining our Event server:

Join details for the Event server are as follows:

IP Address:
Port Number: 15568

If you need any help to sort out the mod on your pc, or if you want to discuss our new development with this mod, please make a post within this same forum.

See you all on the killing field!

Forum Rookie
Do you mind sending me the link as well? Would love to patch that issue with the WW2 mod.
I discussed it in team simple forums: http://team-simple.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=5799

1. Change E8 E7 FE FF FF to B8 01 00 00 00.
2. Change 25 63 3A 5C 73 65 74 75 70 2E 69 6E 69 to 2E 5C 73 65 74 75 70 2E 69 6E 69 00 00.
3. Add setup.ini file to game root folder with content:
Don't remember exact offsets for steps (1) and (2), but can look it up if needed.

If pinging tuia he could probably fix it so the (3) step would not be needed.

Another issue with the crack is that some cd/dvd drive has to exist (can be virtual and nothing has to be actually mounted), but not important for this topic.

Modified exe if you dare to run random executables from the Internet: https://goo.gl/GvFctq
(Another modified exe which also "fixes" initial delay when clicking on Internet menu: https://goo.gl/BwqUv3)
