Hi all,

I'm getting pretty close to giving up on this.

I'm trying to install bfv from my old retail disks. Setup will start but, before I get any options from the installer, it crashes. Server threw and exception. 0x80010105

I've been researching around and the only thing I can figure out at this point is that secdrv is a service no longer supported on Windows10.

Is there an alternative method to install bfv without using an ISO or retail disk? I'm pulling my hair out here.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Nebel,

I'm afraid another user had this issue some time back as well, we were never really able to get that specific thing fixed.

You can try running the setup as an Admin directly just in case, by right clicking on the "setup.exe" on Disk 1 and clicking on "Run as Admin" and see if it works.

Otherwise, if it doesn't I can provide another method for you. Let me know how that goes first. :)

Regards,
Ice

Thanks for your quick reply. I should also have mentioned that I did run as admin as well. I also tried installing from a disk image. Still no dice. I'm open to suggestions.
